Support Goals

In order to achieve our goals, we must depend on individual support, corporate donations, and public and private grants to help maintain our youth programs, growing fleet, and safe operating facilities.

The Community Boating Center is having an impact far beyond its stated mission. We hope you share our vision, see the possibilities, and will provide the means to help us grow!

Increased Scholarships

Private and corporate donations are needed to provide beginner and advanced lessons, memberships for disadvantaged children ages 8-16, and other free programs for inner-city youths.

Boat Acquisition

The lifeblood of CBC is its sailboats. Without a larger, diversified fleet, we cannot significantly increase youth programs or adult membership. A larger membership is needed to cover operating costs and to help subsidize youth programs. One of our greatest challenges is to acquire enough boats and the right types of boats for beginner, advanced and recreational sailing. We must also continue to provide safe, secure docks and protected facilities from which to operate. Three more learn-to-sail boats, six performance sailboats, and a powerboat are needed to expand and diversify the fleet.

Annual Operating Cost Funding

While fees cover a portion of the operating budget, unrestricted funds are needed to supplement fee income for items such as salaries, insurance, equipment and boat repairs.
