Our Summer Camp format offers great opportunities for fun and growth with a highly structured curriculum that allows stepped progression through a variety of opportunities for beginner, racing or cruising minded sailors.
We are currently accepting applications for our summer 2024 camps.
There has never been a more important time to offer youth healthy, outdoor activities to relieve stress, socialize, and provide much-needed fun, learning structure and exercise. Please share our many healthy, summer outdoor youth sailing and paddling camps and lesson opportunities with your friends, neighbors, and colleagues with kids (and adults) looking to get outside, have fun, and enjoy an Ocean State adventure right in your own backyard.
NEW – Early Drop-off, Late Pick-up, and Adult Sailing & Paddling Options
While we are currently experiencing only minor traffic delays during peak times, we understand your frustration! We’ve added early student drop-off and late pick-up options to help provide a buffer for those “unexpected” delays with Washington Bridge traffic. Plus we have very affordable adult sailing and paddling options for you to “stay and play” with your child after camp or work.
Please Bring:
– Good Health – Don’t come if you’re sick
– Lifejacket – USCG Type III (limited, PFDs available) West Marine

– Closed-toe shoes (no bare feet or flip-flops)
– Sunglasses, hat, and other sun protection
– Layered clothes for cooler temperatures on the water
– Change of dry clothes and a towel
– Don’t bring jewelry, electronics, or anything that you value
– CBC is not responsible for any lost, immersed, or stolen items

– EcoAdventure sign-in is 8:30 am
– EcoAdventure sign-out is 3:00 pm

– KidSail sign-out is 3:15
– TeenSail sign-in is 9:00 am

– All classes are offered early drop-off (8:30 am earliest) or late pick-up (4:00 pm latest) for unexpected Washington Bridge traffic delays
– Note: While we do our very best to hold to pick-up times, unlike pulling a player off a soccer field, our program harnesses daily dynamic winds/tides that from time-to-time may extend our day slightly. Thank you for your understanding!
Inclement Weather:
We all know it’s not easy running a summer camp (or being a parent/guardian) but we are thrilled to be able to get your children out of the house and offer an exciting outdoor experience. When the sun is shining (or mostly shining) sailing and paddling in the Ocean State is hard to beat. However, days that are forecast to be all-day storm events can be challenging for our indoor capacity. If you are in a position to keep your child home on bad weather days (forecast and communicated by us at least a day ahead) we would appreciate your flexibility in helping us reduce the number of youth on-site that day. We understand this is not ideal, and may not be possible for some families, but appreciate your help and understanding.
How To Sign-Up
Designed for student comfort and flexibility, our multiple sessions and personal skill evaluations allow your child to jump right in or sign-up with friends of any skill level, in any session, all season long.
Note: Our youth classes sell out quickly! Check inventory prior to joining by checking for “SOLD OUT!” next to each class that you are interested in.
A) Select CBC Youth Membership
– CBC Youth Membership ($25, 1 youth, age 8-16) is required prior to adding classes online. Anyone can join!
– Swimming proficiency (50 yrds.) required. Self-attestation included in “terms & conditions” in waiver of your online order.
B) Choose a Class
Our many sessions make it easy to create a custom learning schedule, or mesh with your family, work, or vacation plans.

Learn To Sail Skills Progression

“Green” beginners introduced to the power of the wind and basic sailing skills. Students learn safety, nomenclature, rigging, sail handling, and steering a course.
Blue – Intermediate
Learn reinforced basics and master upwind sailing, learn to navigate, read charts, anchor, and other skills needed to enjoy the freedom and excitement of blue-water sailing.
